NY Rangers: One Drawing Each Day No. 134 #pen #drawing #sketch

Bruins got 2 points over Rangers who got only 1 and it's third period. Only 5 min left.

And it's over. What a disappointing ending!

A Portrait: One Drawing Each Day No.133 #pen #drawing #sketch

I was intrigued by the Warhol-like drawings of portraits by students.  Such drawings can be a good practice to learn lights and shadows.  Doing this by pen is quite difficult, though.

  1. Good dinner at James Beard Foundation.  Good place to promote culinary culture.  The event I attended is Essence of Portland by Jason Barwikowski.
  2. Medical checkup date change.  Can do today.
  3. Rangers finally won against Bruins.

Beer Cheese Smokey Bacon: One Drawing Each Day No.130 #pen #drawing #sketch

The explanation says that Beer Cheese is a mouthwatering Southern treat that melds bracingly sharp cheddar, high-quality beer, and a special blend of herbs and spices.  Sounds yummy.

Travel Market Report: Same-Sex Destination Weddings Take Off as Growth Market

Destination wedding has become popular and this applies to gay market as well.

A kid's skirt: One Drawing Each Day No. 129 #pen #drawing #sketch

1. Canceled bycicle Sunday due to rain but could enjoy local shopping instead.
2. Cut Akane's hair. She didn't like it yesterday but she seemed to be satisfied when she made a ponytail this morning.
3. Everybody decided not to eat too much beef.

In spite of those happy experiences of yesterday, the Stanley Cup match of Rangers vs. Bruins was frustrating and disappointing. Hope they will win at the Garden.

BTW I am wondering why this post is not synced with Twitter.  My test posting was sync'd so it should be OK...

Station Architecture: Photos of the Day

Some of the beautiful and interesting station architectures in Japan.  Some of the stations are arechitecturally significant and it is interesting to visit them.

1. Tokyo Station
Tokyo Station

This station was renovated to reconstruct its original structure last year.  The station will celebrate the centennial anniversary in December 2014.  Tokyo Station became the sister station of Grand Central Terminal in New York because GCT became 100 years old in February 2013.

This is the original structure of Tokyo Station - the photo was taken when the Tokyo Station Hotel opened in 1915.  This hotel was also renovated last year.

2. Kyoto Station
Kyoto Station is the second oldest railway station in Japan.  (The oldest ones are Shimbashi and Yokohama.)  It was reconstructed several times and the last renovation was completed in 1997 when the Kyoto City celebrated 1200th anniversary.
Its futuristic image of the station provoked some disputes in the ancient city but now I think this station is one of the city's iconic architecture.

According to Wikipedia, this is the original Kyoto Station.

3. Yuya Onsen Station
I put this photo because this is one of the typical old Japanese stations.  Stations in Japan used to be like this but unfortunately not so many still exist today.

4. Mimasaka Sendai Station
One more wooden structure station.

I went to art festival at the middle school. Artwork of all the school kids from elementary school to high school were presented and it was like a marvelous museum.
